Review by hotel critic
If you ever find yourself in Naples, I have to mention this charming spot called Bed & Breakfast Portanova. Just a short walk from the bustling artisans' street of Gregorio Armeno, it's an ideal base for exploring the local culture. The room I stayed in was very spacious and impeccably clean, making it a comfortable retreat after a busy day. Though the host communicated in broken English, his kindness made up for it. Arriving early, I was grateful that they had my room ready, allowing me to freshen up before diving into the city's culinary delights. Speaking of food, while the breakfast selection leans heavily towards sweet pastries and juice from a carton, I ventured to nearby Osteria Mattozzi, which I found to be a true gem. The vibrant ambiance combined with innovative dishes highlighted the local cuisine beautifully, a lovely contrast to the hotel's offerings. I definitely recommend Portanova for a nuanced experience in Naples-between comfort and local flavors, it's a memorable stay!
